The employment service professional typically comes to this work because of a desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. This mission-driven work is critical to the successful job match and job retention efforts, but it is only half of the equation. The employer IS the other key partner in this work, yet employment professionals often admit they struggle with the tasks of job development and business engagement as they attempt to integrate job seekers with disabilities into the workforce. Successful employer engagement often involves a paradigm shift for our field that treats the employer as an equal partner in this process. Just as we do with the job seeker, we must assess the preferences, conditions, challenges, and needs of the employer customer. This can be a significant paradigm shift for our field, yet it is also a strategic imperative. This session will provide an overview of some of the key elements of effective employer engagement.

On-Demand Rental FAQs

On-demand videos and training materials are available for 14 calendar days from the date of rental.

Videos and training materials can only be accessed on the YTIOnline website. One certificate of completion is available for each training rented by the account holder. Anyone wishing to access training content and earn a certificate of completion must become an account holder, purchase the associated product, and complete all post-training requirements.

Purchases under $60 are not eligible for invoicing and must be paid by credit card. For purchases over $60, you will have the option to pay by credit card or request an invoice.

To learn more about restrictions for downloading, recording, or sharing of purchased videos, please review our full Terms of Use.

DWDC on-demand trainings are primarily designed for vocational rehabilitation counselors, job coaches, job developers, supported employment specialists, workforce development professionals, and disability benefits specialists, but anyone may take our trainings. Continuing education credits are often available to those hold a credential through the Commission of Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).

Technical requirements include a computer that can connect to the internet as well as the capability to download PDF documents. We recommend using a modern web browser with the most current version installed.

After 14 calendar days from the date of rental, your ability to access the training video and related resources will end.

No extensions will be granted to the rental time period. Anyone wishing to gain further access to the rental content and/or complete steps to earn certification credits must rent the training again.

To access your on-demand trainings, log in to YTIOnline and click on the “On-Demand” link in your account. You will then see your list of rented trainings, including current and expired content. If videos you have rented have not expired, you can click the “view content” button to access them.

Not all trainings have been pre-approved for credits. Please check the description provided for each product to learn which credits are available.

To receive a certificate of completion listing relevant CEU information, the following activities must be completed: 1) watch the training video in its entirety, 2) check the training completion attestation and request for credits checkbox, 3) complete post-training evaluation, and 4) complete and pass the content quiz.

The CEU review and certificate generation process may take up to 5 business days.

Once all required post-training steps have been completed, and a review process has been completed, a certificate of completion with relevant CEU information will be emailed from DWDC. If you have not received an email after 5 business days of training completion, please check your junk and spam email folders, then reach out to DWDC@cornell.edu.
